IN the city, but not OF the city

We live in a townhome. We are on the East end. There is an empty lot to the North of us, and 2 empty lots to the East of us. We are a mile from the mountains. With all of the snow the wildlife has been pushed further and further down the mountain. This picture is proof. There is typically a buck, a doe, and at least one or two other deer that have found refuge in the lots to the East of us. Lucky for them there are several fruit trees; the fruit of which was hardly touched last fall. Yum yum!
